ELECTRIC THERMIC OIL HEATING SYSTEM
Boiler-Level Performance. Electric Simplicity. Smarter Heating for Modern Corrugation.
The Electric Thermic Oil Heating System (ETOHS) is a boilerless heating solution engineered for high-speed corrugation machines and 3/5 ply automatic plants. It combines the speed and heating performance associated with a thermic fluid boiler with the simplicity, cleanliness and convenience of electric heating.
Installed close to the corrugation machine, ETOHS uses heated thermic oil as the heat-transfer medium, delivering uniform and controlled heat directly through the corrugation rolls. With minimal pipelines, intelligent multi-step temperature controls and low-watt-density heating elements, the system is designed to deliver faster production, consistent 2-ply quality and lower operational complexity.
WHY ETOHS?
Faster Heating. Higher Productivity.
ETOHS can bring the corrugation machine to operating temperature in approximately 45 minutes, while its controlled heating system enables operating speeds of up to 80 metres/minute, depending on machine and process conditions.
Uniform Heat Distribution
Thermic oil circulates through the heating circuit and provides consistent temperature across the corrugation rolls. Uniform heating improves flute formation and 2-ply quality while helping minimise issues such as blister formation, particularly when running smaller GSM or smaller-width paper.
Intelligent Energy Management
The heating elements are divided into multiple load banks with multi-step temperature controls. Power output can therefore be matched to machine speed, paper GSM, roller requirements and production conditions rather than running the full installed load continuously.
Built for Safe, Long-Term Operation
ETOHS uses low-watt-density heating elements, helping maintain thermic oil temperatures below its flash point and reducing carbonisation. The system is designed for long service life, with the uploaded product material specifying an average system life of approximately 10 years under appropriate operating conditions.
Compact, Boilerless Installation
The heating unit is positioned close to the corrugation machine, requiring only a few metres of pipeline. This reduces transmission losses and eliminates the need for a separate boiler room, chimney, fuel storage, ash disposal or water-softening infrastructure associated with conventional boilers.
Minimal Maintenance & Easy Operation
ETOHS is designed around simple, push-button operation with minimal operator intervention. Compared with conventional heating arrangements, it reduces infrastructure and recurring maintenance requirements while supporting higher machine uptime.
ETOHS VS. CONVENTIONAL HEATING SYSTEMS
| Parameter | ETOHS | Steam / Thermic Fluid Boiler | In-Built Chinese Oil Heating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Heating time | ~45 minutes | Typically 2+ hours | Depends on system |
| Operating speed | Up to 80 m/min* | Higher speeds possible depending on configuration | Limited by fixed system rating |
| Heat distribution | Uniform thermic-oil circulation | Heat transmitted through long pipelines | Heat concentrated around pre-heater |
| Energy management | Multi-step load banks | Limited by boiler configuration | High fixed heater load |
| Installation | Compact, near machine | Separate boiler area + long pipelines | Integrated into machine |
| Fuel / water requirement | Electricity + thermic oil | Fuel + large water (treated) requirement | Electricity + thermic oil |
| Chimney / ash handling | Not required | Required for applicable fuel-fired systems | Not required |
| Temperature control | Precise multi-step control | Dependent on boiler/steam conditions | Fixed ratings |
| Maintenance | Low | High infrastructure & maintenance | Higher heater/oil maintenance |
| Scalability | Can serve single or multiple machines | Requires additional infrastructure | Restricted by fixed configuration |
| Service support | Indian service & spare-parts network | Boiler-specific service | Imported spare parts may have longer lead times |
*Actual speed depends on corrugation machine configuration, paper GSM, roller dimensions and operating conditions.
ENGINEERED FOR THE WAY YOUR PLANT GROWS
ETOHS can be configured for single or multiple corrugation machines and is adaptable to different machine sizes, speeds, paper GSM and roller requirements. Additional heating capacity can be incorporated to accommodate future production upgrades.
It is particularly suited for:
- High-speed fingerless corrugation machines
- 3/5 ply automatic board plants
- Single-machine installations
- Multiple-machine installations
- Plants looking to replace or reduce dependence on conventional boilers
THE RADIANT ADVANTAGE
Designed by the Electro Heat Group. Built around real corrugation requirements.
Radiant Electric Thermic Oil Heating System combines application-specific engineering with robust components, multi-step controls and an established Indian service and spare-parts network. The system has been adopted across the Indian corrugated-box industry, with the supplied company material documenting 100+ installations, while more recent company material reports 200+ installations.
The innovation has also received a Government of India patent and recognition through the Late Shri B.K. Doshi Award for Innovation & Excellence from FCBM.
A Smarter Alternative to Boiler-Based Heating
Less infrastructure. Better heat control. Faster production. Lower operational complexity.
If your corrugation plant is looking for a cleaner, compact and scalable heating solution, ETOHS is engineered to move your production forward.
